Profile
Dr. ████ Mirage is a researcher at the Foundation, specializing in biology and taxonomy. They became connected to SCP-963 during a containment breach, and have expressed great distress at this fact. Regular therapy sessions with Dr. Glass have been shown to assist in diminishing these feelings. Despite their status as an SCP, they have been allowed to continue their work, as they have shown undeniable loyalty to the Foundation.
Dr. Mirage’s personality can be described as eccentric. He has had periods of disobedient or reckless behavior, likely in response to heightened distress towards his situation, but these periods are typically short and uncommon. In general, though they display many behaviors described by fellow staff as “odd” or “strange”, they keep to themself unless required to interact to do their job.
Their appearance fluctuates due to the nature of SCP-963. Typical features include tanned skin, brown hair, one brown eye, and one eye visually resembling a topaz gemstone. Often, they will be seen with multiple animal features as well. Dr. Mirage will most always be seen wearing SCP-963 around their neck, and prescription sunglasses, though these may sometimes be replaced by regular prescription lenses.

Special Containment Procedures
SCP-963 is to be kept on the person of Dr. ████ Mirage. Should SCP-963 be found elsewhere, or Dr. Mirage is found without SCP-963, it is to be returned as soon as possible. Physical contact with SCP-963 should be kept to a minimum.
Description
SCP-963-A is an amulet made of sterling silver, which surrounds a teardrop-shaped topaz gem. SCP-963-A is resistant to all forms of damage, including but not limited to extreme temperature, sharp objects, gunfire, and crushing. Due to the events of Incident 963-A1, it is inextricably connected to Dr. ████ Mirage, who will be referred to as SCP-963-B.
When SCP-963-B suffers damage that would result in expiration, SCP-963-A will attempt to repair the body using stored biological matter. To acquire and store biological matter, SCP-963-A must be in contact with both SCP-963-B and a living organism.
Once contact is established, SCP-963-A will begin to break down the organism’s body and absorb it into itself. The process is incredibly painful for the organisms, and causes increased distress in SCP-963-B. Biological matter can then be used to replace damaged or missing parts of SCP-963-B’s body. SCP-963-A has shown an inability to absorb organisms that have not reached full maturity.
If SCP-963-A and SCP-963-B lose contact at any time, all higher brain functions of SCP-963-B will halt until contact is reestablished. SCP-963-A cannot repair injuries sustained that do not result in death, however upon expiration of SCP-963-B all previous injuries will be healed.
Background
Dr. ████ Mirage joined the Foundation in 19██, at 27 years of age. He previously worked with Wilson's Wildlife Solutions to contain various anomalous animals, but following an injury, he transferred to working with the Foundation. Dr. Mirage had no living family members prior to joining the Foundation.
